As we turn the corner from winter to greet warmer weather, families are looking for ways to enjoy the sunnier and longer days.
Get off the couch and get out of the house with your family to explore the sprouting lakeshore. Whether outdoors or inside a local attraction, you and your family can discover ways to stay busy and move on from the winter blues.
Outdoor Discovery Center
Outdoor Discovery Center (ODC) in Holland offers family-friendly programming throughout the year. On March 13 and 20, ODC will host its maple syrup tapping program at Van Raalte Farm. Tap trees, gather sap and watch it all be boiled down into maple syrup. Other upcoming programs include Knee-high Naturalist — held every Friday — and the Greenway Fun Run at Van Raalte Farm on April 17.
Whether on a rainy or sunny spring day, solving a series of puzzles with Lakeshore Quest Escape Rooms in Muskegon is sure to keep the family moving — and thinking. Find a treasure hidden in a mansion set for demolition before time runs out or restore elevator power and avoid being buried alive. Lakeshore Quest provides private experiences, allowing you and your family alone to solve puzzles and look for clues.
Urban St. magazine is distributed to residents and visitors of the lakeshore communities of Holland, Zeeland, Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Saugatuck, Douglas, Fennville, Muskegon, Nunica, Port Sheldon and West Olive at numerous pick-up locations including attractions, retailers, restaurants, hotels and salons/spas.
