CityFlatsHotel An urban, upscale space to tie the knot

Sharing striking, panoramic views of Holland’s award-winning downtown, CityFlatsHotel doubles as a hip boutique hotel and an elegant events venue.

With its floor-to-ceiling windows, sleek design and vibrant catering menu, CityFlatsHotel is bustling during wedding season.

“At CityFlatsHotel, our professional event staff will be with you every step of the way,” said Chelsea Carter, marketing coordinator at CityFlatsHotel. “We want our guests to have a flawless experience and to feel confident that they made the correct choice for their special day. Along with being the only rooftop event space in the Holland area, we also offer many on-site accommodations to ensure your experience is unlike anything else.” 

Aside from its first location in Holland, CityFlats has two additional hotels, one in Grand Rapids and another currently under construction in Port Huron. Holland’s CityVū Events space is located on the fifth floor of the hotel and includes a patio, accommodating up to 150 guests.

Clients can use CityFlatsHotel’s catering menu as a loose guide, as Shelly Rash, executive chef, can customize and tailor wedding fare to fit couples’ needs.

“We are always more than willing to do special things,” he said. “Our event coordinators do a fantastic job of speaking to the client to get a real sense of what the guest is looking for. If they have an idea they are interested in, we will discuss it internally and figure out if it is feasible. If so, we run with it. It’s fun from our standpoint too, to do things out of the ordinary.”

A lot of ingredients are sourced locally when possible, especially in the warmer months, Rash said.

Popular menu selections range from marinated, grilled whiskey chicken and fresh salmon with a dill cream sauce to stuffed mushrooms, spicy vegetables in cucumber cups and a dessert station serving cannoli, creme brulee and Key lime pie shooters.

“We want them to have the confidence that we know and achieve what they are looking for,” Rash said. “During the event, we want everyone’s expectations to be exceeded. From food to ambience to service. Sounds cliché, I know … but we live for it.”
