Happy Birthday, Herrick!

Herrick District Library

This year marks Herrick District Library’s 25th anniversary. In May 1997, Holland Township, Laketown Township, Park Township and the City of Holland voted in a millage referendum to establish and support a district library to serve the greater Holland community. And what a great 25 years it has been!

There are many ways to celebrate and use HDL, one of which is to visit The Book Nook, where Friends of the Library volunteers sell gently used books at both library locations (300 South River Ave. and 155 Riley St.) — all proceeds are used to support the library. The inventory is constantly changing, so you’ll never know what treasures you’ll find.

The Book Nook features an Unusual Books section, with titles that’ll intrigue and inspire your love of reading. You might find a book about making and flying kites, a book containing Buddhist art or even a book about famous diamonds. The possibilities are endless.

You can find a well-stocked bookstore at the Main Library on the lower level; and at the newly renovated North Branch, you will find a book cart at the entrance. Most titles are $2 or less!
