Doebs Pizzeria opened its doors at 503 W. 17th St. in Holland in January. The pizzeria offers artisan pizza, flatbread, focaccia, Detroit-style pizza, sandwiches and salads. Doebs features an open kitchen, so customers can watch the magic happen.
Savor Chicago street food.
Nadine’s Fish Tip & Wings will open soon at 1111 S. Washington Ave., in Holland. The eatery will serve Chicago-style food with counter service and seating for 15–20 people.
Got barbecue?
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit plans to open at 12579 Felch St. in Holland Township, the former storefront of Pet Supplies Plus. The franchise is a counter-service eatery that focuses on authentic Texas barbecue, with pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, wings, giant baked potatoes, corn muffins, chili, mac and cheese and potato salad.
Goog’s returns.
A cherished Holland burger restaurant is coming back in a new way. Goog’s Pub will return in a scaled-down format in a 14,000-square-foot mixed-use development at 667 Hastings Ave. The building is located at the site of the former Goog’s Pub and Grub, and will also feature a boutique grocery and beverage market called MGB Market and nine residential apartments.

Lake Bluff Grille at Muskegon Country Club will open this spring at 2801 Lakeshore Drive. The new restaurant and renovated event venue will have outstanding views of the golf course and Muskegon Lake from an expansive covered deck. Lake Bluff Grille will be open to the public and have a modern and contemporary interior design with an inviting, warm feel, serving New American-style. Lake Bluff Grill is part of RedWater Restaurant Group.
Beer and pizza? Yes please!
Rake Beer Project and Rolling Stone Wood Fired Pizza Co. are teaming up to open a “food and beverage collective” in downtown Muskegon. The venture will be located on the first floor of The Leonard, a six-story development being constructed on the corner of Western Avenue and Second Street. The Rake Beer Project and Rolling Stone Wood Fired Pizza Co. will occupy 3,500 square feet of street level space with an outdoor patio and is slated to open this spring.
Nurture your inner plant lover.
Plant Lady Plant Shop recently opened at The Holland Town Center at 12330 James St., Suite B40. The store welcomes plant lovers of all skill levels and features a variety of houseplants, terrarium building, a potting station and rare plants.
Taco-bout it.
Playa Tacos & Tequilas will open this May at the former location of Ottawa Beach Inn, at 2155 Ottawa Beach Road in Holland. The restaurant will be open year-round and will serve craft cocktails and Mexican street food, offering items like diablo shrimp, chorizo tacos and carne asada. It will have a large outdoor patio, a fireplace wall and an extended full bar.
But first, coffee.
Ziggi’s Coffee will open its first Michigan location in Zeeland at 8317 Westpark Way this summer. The franchise features handcrafted drinks; locally made breakfast, lunch and snack options; and kid-friendly menu items.
Food truck turned restaurant.
A popular Muskegon food truck, Tiki Boiz Island Grindz, recently opened as a brick-and-mortar restaurant at 2445 Lakeshore Drive, in the former Lott on the Lakeshore. Tiki Boiz Island Grindz serves Hawaiian street food fused with Japanese flavors.
