Reindeer Cookie Pops
|Ingredients
12 peanut butter cookies
(peanut-shaped like Nutter Butters)
24 candy eyeballs
12 red candy-coated chocolates
(like M&M’s) or just some red icing
12 pretzels twists
1 cup chocolate chips
12 cake pop sticks or popsicle sticks
Preparation
Open the cookies and lay them out on a baking sheet or plate, keeping all parts handy and leaving room for pop sticks.
Break the pretzels in half and set aside.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30-second increments.
Dip the end of a cake pop stick into the chocolate, then place it on a cookie at least ½-inch into the cookie.
Immediately dip the end of a piece of pretzel into the chocolate, then place it on a cookie, on the opposite end from the stick and on either the left or right side of the cookie. Repeat this step for a second piece of pretzel.
Close cookie.
Repeat for all the cookies.
Place in the freezer and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
Remove cookies from the freezer and dip each one in the chocolate.
Place the cookies back in the freezer for 10 more minutes.
Put the remaining chocolate into a piping bag with your smallest decorating tip.
Remove the cookies from the freezer and, using a piping bag and your smallest decorating tip, place a drop of chocolate on the back of a candy eyeball and place strategically on the cookie. Repeat once more.
Place a drop of chocolate on the back of a candy-coated chocolate and place strategically on the cookie as a nose.
Place the cookies back in the freezer for another 10 minutes.
