If you’re looking for a new form of entertainment this winter and beyond, Holland’s BAM! entertainment center is the perfect place to go. In addition to bowling, laser tag, a high ropes course and arcade, BAM! has added axe throwing to its roster of amusements.
I talked with owner Phil Huffman in the weeks leading up to the grand opening. Huffman hopes BAM!’s axe throwing experience and a new adult-only space will give people a one-stop, night-out for fun and entertainment. The experience is for adults 18 and up.
Axe throwing is a target sport, much like darts, but with axes. BAM! features three axe bays, each with its own dedicated “axepert” that will help with safety, critiquing and training.
Each bay can hold four to six people/players. The cost is $25 per person for a 75-minute time slot. For participants’ safety, closed-toe shoes are required.
In addition to axe bays, the new, adult-only space at BAM! will include darts, old-school arcade games and shuffleboard, as well as its own bar and menu featuring smoked meats.
“We designed it to be a comfortable, laid-back hangout space,” Huffman said.
For reservations, Huffman recommends calling the main number (616-392-7086) until an online reservation system is completed.
BAM! will also debut two new climbing walls — coming soon!
